A piano, bass and drums trio playing jazz, Latin jazz, standards and Afro-Caribbean and Brazilian rhythms.
Jazzaben is a piano, bass and drums trio formed by Juan Robles, Jesús Acosta and Vicente Perelló. Their live set brings energy and enthusiasm to jazz, with a broad repertoire that can be tailored to the feel of each occasion.
The group performs as a three-piece, moving between well-known jazz pieces and original compositions. The set can focus on Latin jazz or take in jazz standards, making it suitable for events calling for anything from rhythmic colour to a more elegant swing atmosphere.
The Latin selection includes Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as cha-cha-cha and son, as well as Brazilian bossa nova and samba. It features versions of pieces by Paquito d’Rivera and Michel Camilo, alongside classics such as “Manteca” and “A Night in Tunisia”. The trio also plays swing, swing ballads and bebop, plus original jazz and Latin jazz pieces.
Jazzaben can suit weddings, parties, corporate functions and private events looking for live jazz. The trio has performed at venues on Madrid’s jazz circuit, including Clamores, El Plaza, Café El Despertar and Moe Club.
