Jazz On The Corner pairs vocals, saxophone, bass and guitar across swing, blues, bossa nova and jazz standards.
Jazz On The Corner brings together vocals, saxophone, bass and guitar for a live set shaped around familiar songs and classic jazz. The sound can move from relaxed passages to livelier swing, making it a good fit when you want live music to set the mood while offering variety.
The group performs jazz standards and popular songs from across the years, drawing on classic jazz, swing, blues and bossa nova. The vocal delivery has a crooner feel. Songs listed in the repertoire include “Cry Me a River”, “What a Wonderful World”, “Desafinado”, “L.O.V.E.”, “Summertime” and “All of Me”. Louis Armstrong and Ray Charles are among the group’s influences.
The mix of styles works well for private parties, celebrations and other events where the music can shift between softer moments and more upbeat numbers. The group brings its own equipment and needs a power socket. The mixing desk should have seven channels for the vocals and instruments.
