A jazz quintet blending groove, jazz funk, Latin rhythms and flamenco, led by saxophone and flute.
Iñaki Arakistain Project brings together jazz, groove and a range of Latin influences in a live quintet format. Led by saxophonist and flautist Iñaki Arakistain, the group also draws on Brazilian music and flamenco, with jazz providing a shared language across the different styles. The result suits events looking for an instrumental performance with rhythmic drive and room for improvisation.
Arakistain plays saxophone and flute, and is responsible for composition and arrangements. Israel Sandoval plays electric guitar, Santi Greco is on bass, Anye Bao on drums and Cristina Morales on percussion. Together, the instruments create a layered sound, balancing melodic passages with a strong rhythmic foundation.
Jazz and jazz funk are at the heart of the project, joined by Latin jazz, flamenco jazz, Brazilian influences and groove. Arakistain’s own compositions are part of the group’s musical approach; no specific list of covers is provided.
The quintet can be considered for weddings, town fiestas, corporate events and private celebrations seeking live jazz with a fusion edge. Sound, monitoring and microphones are part of the technical requirements, so the setup should be discussed in relation to the venue.
