Traditional Terreta folklore with live music, dance demonstrations, workshops and audience participation.
Since 1981, Grup de danses Cresol has been keeping the music, songs, dances and traditions of the Terreta alive. Its performance pairs a folk dance showcase with opportunities for the audience to join in, making it suitable for both celebrations and participatory activities.
The group brings together a guitar and lute ensemble with a singer, dulzainas, small drums and dancers. Alongside performances, it runs dance workshops and encourages guests to take part. The group can also appear in Three Kings parades and provide entertainment at private parties.
Its repertoire draws on traditional Terreta folklore, including jotas, fandangos, malagueñas and seguidillas. The group also teaches dance classes in collaboration with the Federation and performs at presentations for the beauties of Alicante’s different hogueras.
Grup de danses Cresol suits local celebrations, neighbourhood and village festivals, conferences, special events and tourist hotels. A stage performance requires sound equipment for the ensemble; street dancing does not require equipment.
