Lyrical light soprano for weddings, events and concerts, with Baroque, operatic and popular repertoire.
Gemma Román is a professional light lyric soprano whose experience spans classical vocal repertoire and popular music. Her training and work as both a soloist and chorister suit wedding ceremonies and other events, as well as concerts featuring Baroque music, opera and Romantic works.
She can perform as a soloist or as part of several chamber groups: the duos Vento Dolce, Aria ed Anima and Madrigalia G&M, and the Baroque ensemble L’Alfolí. Her operatic appearances include roles in Baroque works such as Gli amori di Apollo e Dafne and L’Orfeo. Her choral experience also includes music by Brahms, Vivaldi, Mozart, Handel and Carl Orff. Expressive delivery and continued vocal study are central to her work.
Gemma has ten years’ experience as a solo singer and a further ten as a chorister. She has professional vocal training, has performed in concerts and opera productions, and has recorded two albums. Aria ed Anima reached the semi-finals of the fifth international early music competition in Gijón. As solo soprano with the Costa da Morte Polyphonic Choir, she received first prize and the audience award at a rondalla and choir competition.
Her music can suit wedding ceremonies, concerts and celebrations seeking a lyrical or Baroque vocal sound. If digital piano accompaniment is planned, a power socket is required. A dressing room and water are also needed.
