Funkdacion brings funk, soul and groove to the stage with vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass, saxophone, trombone and drums.
Funkdacion are a Granada-based band with a long history in funk and soul. Formed in 1995, they combine a distinctive black sound identity with musical influences and original material. Their current sound centres on funk, soul and groove, drawing on classic jazz funk from the 1970s and 80s.
The band features vocals, guitar, piano, Hammond and keyboards, bass, alto saxophone, trombone and drums. Their performances are energetic and good-humoured, with the musicianship of the ensemble at the heart of the show. Influences include Maceo Parker, Electro Deluxe, Marcus Miller, Jamiroquai and Stevie Wonder.
Alongside classic influences, Funkdacion perform their own material. Their EP Back to my Skin contains four original tracks. They suit town fiestas, weddings, private celebrations and company events looking for a live funk and soul band with vocals and a brass section.
The band travels without a PA system, sound engineer or lighting. Backline and minimum requirements should follow their stage rider. A dressing room and wardrobe space are also required; accommodation can be agreed in advance.
