A Sabadell fire performance group featuring devils, percussion and festival beasts for correfocs, processions and community celebrations.
Forques de Can Deu is a cultural group from Sabadell with more than 140 members, founded in 1999. Its performances bring together devils, percussion and fire festival beasts, with options for streets and squares as well as musical entertainment within a wider event.
A correfoc combines music and pyrotechnics, with the audience able to dance beneath the fire.
A street procession features devils, festival beasts and percussion performing set pieces with pyrotechnics.
A percussion-led tabalada can also be booked on its own.
A tronada sends up to four projectiles into the sky. The finale can include fire cascades, small firework displays and effects overhead.
The devils carry three- or four-pronged pitchforks. The fire beast line-up includes Antonot, a two-headed dragon carried by adults, and the twin dragons Foc i Forca, carried by younger members. Percussion accompanies all sections and can also provide a standalone performance.
The group takes part in local and regional festivals, performing around 25 times a year in and beyond Catalonia. Its formats suit patron saint festivals, street events and cultural programmes looking for fire and live percussion.
