Live music with comedy and audience interaction, blending orchestra, charanga and street theatre in a trio or quartet format.
Flau y Cía en Escena brings live music, comedy and audience participation together. The group performs as a trio or quartet, offering a flexible line-up for a range of celebrations.
The show draws on orchestra and charanga traditions, with elements of street theatre. There is no fixed script: each performance responds to the moment and the audience. Music provides the setting for comic exchanges, with room for satire and playful awkwardness. The musicians first performed on the street and later brought the show to the stage, adding electric guitar to the sound.
Depending on the format, the group has three or four performers. The line-up can include dulzaina, electric guitar, percussion, bass drum and vocals. Its repertoire runs to more than eight hours of material, including classics, dance numbers, songs from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, cartoon themes, punk rock, current music and charanga selections. The group does not play reggaeton, bachata, flamenco or sevillanas.
The format can work well for town fiestas, community celebrations and private events looking for live music with comedy and crowd interaction. The group performs more than a hundred times a year. Its sound equipment is suitable for venues of up to 200 square metres, and it requires a 230 V power supply.
