Rural-rooted urban rock, driven by powerful guitars and lyrics about mining communities and country life.
Escombro are an urban rock band formed in 2005 in Teruel’s Cuencas Mineras region. Their songs draw on mining towns and rural life, pairing forceful guitars with direct lyrics. The band gives voice to rural communities and explores the neglect of the countryside, local identity and the determination of people who keep their communities going.
The five-piece line-up features Juanvi on lead guitar, Rafa on guitar and saxophone, José on drums and cajón, Ángel on bass, and Alberto on vocals. Their sound brings together rock, rhythm and distortion. The songs are intended to move listeners as well as tell stories rooted in the band’s surroundings.
Escombro’s music has a strong rural perspective. Its lyrics focus on workers, mining villages and the people who continue to build a shared life in the places they call home.
Escombro can suit town festivals, live music events and celebrations looking for a distinctive rock band with a clear connection to rural Spain.
