Nicolas Chevalie brings magic, ventriloquism and comedy together with the puppet El Señor Gonzales.
Nicolas Chevalie brings magic, ventriloquism, juggling and comedy together in an interactive performance. It opens with magic to warm up the room, then introduces El Señor Gonzales, a puppet with a character of his own who chats with the audience. Their comic exchanges give the show its distinctive turn and make audience involvement part of the act.
The performance pairs Nicolas Chevalie, a magician, ventriloquist, juggler and comedian, with the puppet El Señor Gonzales. Humour links the different disciplines throughout. Chevalie began circus training at the age of eight and went on to study magic from 2000. In 2003 he discovered ventriloquism and created the Gonzales character.
He has performed at festivals, theatres, on the streets and on television, as well as touring stages across Latin America and Europe. His career spans more than 20 years, and he has also taught magic.
The mix of visual comedy, magic and audience interaction can suit community fiestas, private celebrations and corporate events, as well as theatre and festival programmes. The format moves between magic routines and comic conversations with the puppet.
