Classical flute and guitar for weddings, concerts and events, with Celtic, Latin, classical and film music.
Dúo Lugares Comunes pairs flute with classical guitar for ceremonies, drinks receptions, concerts and celebrations. Both musicians have classical training and create their own arrangements, bringing traditional and popular music into a chamber duo format. Based in Valladolid, they are willing to travel.
Katrina Penman plays concert flute and traditional flutes, while María Elena Peña de Prada plays classical and acoustic guitar. Both contribute arrangements and compositions. The duo can perform acoustically or with amplification, indoors or outdoors. They bring their own microphones and speaker; amplified performances need access to a power socket. Large outdoor squares may require additional sound equipment.
The programme can draw on classical, Celtic, folk and Latin music, as well as film soundtracks. Their arrangements also explore Irish, Scottish, Spanish and Latin American folk traditions for flute and guitar. They can discuss the set list with event organisers to suit the occasion and its atmosphere.
