Dr. Flaming performs familiar acoustic pop-rock covers, with Álvaro Vázquez solo or joined by percussionist Noli Torres.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
Dr. Flaming is an acoustic pop-rock covers act led by Álvaro Vázquez, a seasoned musician from A Guarda who has played with bands including The Pretty Shirts, Castro y los Escoltas and Gold & Colt. The set brings back familiar hits that audiences may not have heard in a while, encouraging everyone to sing along, dance and celebrate.
In the solo format, Álvaro sings, plays guitar and handles percussion on a cleverly designed foot-operated drum kit.
For the duo, percussionist Noli Torres joins him on drums.
The repertoire draws on artists such as Culture Club, Meredith Brooks, 4 Non Blondes, Tom Jones, George Michael, Radiohead, The Proclaimers and Katrina and the Waves. Songs include “Karma Chameleon”, “What’s Up”, “Sex Bomb”, “Faith” and “Walking on Sunshine”. Sound and lighting equipment are included. The act requires a 220 V power socket, enough room for the performers and equipment, and a place to change and store belongings.
Dr. Flaming can suit weddings, local festivals, private parties and corporate events looking for live acoustic pop-rock and well-known songs. The solo or duo line-up offers a choice between a more compact performance and the addition of a drummer on stage.
