A gaucho-inspired act combining circus, dance and performance with boleadoras, ropes and whips.
Created and performed by Milton Manica and Gala Georgieva, Diablos de la Pampa SCP brings together dance, circus and theatrical performance. The work draws on gaucho culture from southern Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, with boleadoras, ropes and whips as part of its visual language.
Choose from visual acts lasting 10 minutes or a full show of 50 minutes. Some numbers feature fire. In 2012, Milton and Gala set a Guinness World Record on the Italian television programme Lo Show dei Record: using boleadoras, Milton removed the petals from 18 roses held in Gala’s mouth in two minutes.
Their accolades include first prize for dance at the Festival d'Arts i Serveis Artístics in Torredembarra in 2009, and a first prize won by Milton Mánica at an international festival in Johannesburg in 1993.
The visual circus and dance acts can be considered for town fiestas, private celebrations and corporate events. The performance area should be flat and smooth, at least 4 × 4 metres, with 3.5 metres of clearance. Technical requirements include a sound system, CD player, speakers suited to the venue, two 200 monitors, and a sound and lighting technician. Vehicle access and a changing room near the stage are also required. Fire acts are preferably scheduled for late afternoon or evening.
