A 70-member fire-run group accompanied by traditional percussion, with fire figures and stops planned around the route.
Diables de Sant Cugat is a 70-member group performing correfocs, the Catalan tradition of fire runs. Their street performance brings together the diables, fire figures and traditional percussion, with the route guiding how the event unfolds.
The group arranges its fire figures and stopping points to suit the planned route. This allows the procession to be shaped around the available space and the way the correfoc moves through it. Traditional percussion accompanies the group throughout the performance.
The show draws on the diables and correfoc tradition, combining fire figures with percussion. The group is also developing a fire beast; this is a work in progress and is not presented as a confirmed part of the current performance.
