A piano, double bass, drums and vocals quartet spanning jazz standards, French chanson, bossa nova and more.
Couleur Café Jazz Quartet perform in a classic four-piece line-up: Chema Corvo on piano, Pupy Domínguez on double bass, Javier Barragués on drums and Marisa Marzo on vocals. The group formed in early 2010 to bring jazz to a broad audience through familiar standards and songs connected to the genre from other musical traditions.
Their set moves between well-known jazz numbers and material with different influences, creating room for contrasting moods and rhythms. Chema Corvo brings professional experience across jazz, theatre and folk music, alongside a background in music teaching.
The repertoire can cover jazz, French chanson, funk, blues, bossa nova, bolero and pop adaptations. Songs include «La bien pagá», «Volver», «Alfonsina y el mar», «Sympathique», «Chega de saudade», «Corcovado» and «Garota de Ipanema», among others. The quartet performs songs in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
With vocals and a varied song selection, the quartet can provide live music for weddings, private celebrations, corporate events and cultural programmes. Its mix of jazz and familiar songs from different traditions suits events looking for a flexible musical atmosphere.
