World dance performances with considered costumes and staging, with options for fire, lighting effects or live musicians.
Led by Neftis Paloma, the company brings together dance and music from different cultures in performances designed for a broad audience. Alquimia Danza y Teatro has more than 25 years of experience, blending stage disciplines to create shows that range from traditional influences to contemporary movement.
Music, costumes, set design and scenery all contribute to the atmosphere. Depending on the format, the show can feature live musicians, fire dance or illuminated elements. The company also offers street processions and world dance workshops. Performances require a smooth dance surface, lighting and sound, with a dressing room near the stage.
The programme may include oriental and tribal dance, Sufi or whirling dervish movement, Bollywood, flamenco and folk traditions from different regions. The company’s broader stage work also draws on jazz, contemporary dance, stilts and juggling. It can suit town festivals, cultural programmes, corporate events and private celebrations seeking a distinctive dance performance.
