A contemporary urban dance company creating story-led shows across street styles, with social and emotional themes.
Colectivo Fresas con Nata is a company established in 2009 to promote urban dance in Castile and León. Its stage work uses dance to tell stories that speak to younger and adult audiences through social, emotional and everyday themes.
The company has created ten productions. Its shows combine urban dance techniques with elements of contemporary dance and a varied musical palette. Each production develops its own idea and aims to create an emotional response rather than simply present a run of routines.
The styles include hip hop, breaking, waacking, locking, popping, house, dancehall and vogue. Productions have explored sustainability, emotional intelligence and working life. Génesis traces hip hop culture through voice-over and choreography; E-Motions explores feelings through dance and music without spoken text; and La Silla uses the image of musical chairs to pose questions about competition and survival.
The company can suit cultural programmes, festivals, public celebrations and events seeking urban dance with substance. Technical requirements vary by production. The stated reference requirements include a stage of at least 8 × 10 metres, sound and lighting, a smooth performance floor and a dressing room.
