Itinerant theatre and puppet shows featuring stilts, puppets, original music and audience participation.
Cia Teatro Infinito performs street theatre and puppet shows in both roaming and static formats. Its productions use stilts, puppets and music to create imaginative scenes that involve the audience. Founded in Spain in 2015, the company brings together disciplines including painting, sculpture, music and dance.
The programme includes roaming theatre on stilts with giant puppets, five static puppet shows and ten street theatre productions. Actors and puppeteers bring original characters and stories to life. The company writes and performs its own songs, and its shows also feature stories of its own creation.
Puppets are made by hand, using hand-carved wood and recycled materials. The company also designs and builds its own scenery, props and costumes. On stage, a performer may take the role of a traditional storyteller and invite the audience into the theatrical game. Maya Olin and Fran Herranz perform vocals and guitar.
Roaming performances can bring activity to local festivals and outdoor celebrations, while static puppet shows may suit family events and cultural programmes. The company also runs theatre and puppet-making workshops for children.
