Six-piece covers band with over 15 years’ experience and an adaptable mix of Spanish and international hits.
We are a booking agency for events, not the artist's team. We work with organisers: festivals, councils, companies, venues and weddings.
Checkmate Rock Band are a covers group with more than 15 years’ experience. After a period of change, they are back on stage as a six-piece: Marina on vocals, Sergio and Manel on guitars, Joan on bass, Juanma on keyboards and Sergi on drums.
The band offers a varied repertoire that can be tailored to the event or venue. Their covers include international names such as Dire Straits, Queen, Elvis, Bruce Springsteen and Chuck Berry, as well as Spanish artists including Duncan Dhu, Fito, Celtas Cortos, El Último de la Fila, Los Ronaldos and Tequila. Their influences also range from Steppenwolf, The Cure and Elton John to Stevie Wonder, Los Rodríguez and Radio Futura. Expect familiar songs played live, with a focus on strong sound and an audience-friendly atmosphere.
The format can work for weddings, drinks receptions, vermouth gatherings, parties, venue performances and events looking for well-known songs played live. The adaptable song selection can help suit the mood to the space and occasion. Checkmate can supply sound equipment if the event does not have its own; they need a 220V power socket.
