Cabaret Noir brings together dance, music and theatrical performance in a show with a retro feel. The full production runs for around an hour and a half and is suitable for audiences of all ages. Its tone is warm and cheeky, with no nudity, and the aim is to entertain and share a few laughs with the audience.
The full format features around a dozen dance numbers performed by a cast of approximately nine dancers, who take turns across the choreography. A master of ceremonies links the sections with comedy monologue, juggling, clowning and body percussion. Singer Marta performs three vocal numbers.
The show draws on classic Broadway musicals and the look of the 1950s, with rock and roll influences and a contemporary touch. The dancing ranges from musical theatre classics to modern songs, all given a retro edge. The vocal repertoire centres on familiar classics. Requests for a particular number can also be considered.
Alongside the full production, a shorter selection of sections can be arranged, with or without the singer. It can suit parties and celebrations looking for a mix of dance, singing and theatrical humour. The stated minimum stage area is 4 × 5 metres, with a dressing room close to the stage.
