Alcalans Brass Quintet brings a brass ensemble to concerts across a range of styles and venues.
Alcalans Brass Quintet is a five-piece chamber ensemble specialising in brass instruments. The group began in March 2013, after its members discussed playing together following a session at the conservatoire. After an initial performance, they went on to give several concerts and enter competitions.
The line-up features two trumpets, French horn, trombone and bass trombone. The quintet can adapt to different venues and offers concerts of varying lengths, making it suitable for a range of spaces and programmes.
Alcalans Brass Quintet performs music in a variety of styles. Its versatility brings the sound of brass to concerts and occasions looking for a chamber ensemble.
The format works well for concerts and live music events where a brass wind group is appropriate. Five instruments combine to create a cohesive ensemble sound, and the group can adapt its set-up to the stage.
