Founded in 1976, Acetre emerges as a distinguished reference point, being one of the longest-running and most emblematic groups in the field of folklore in Extremadura. Their music transcends mere listening and stands as a key piece for capturing the evolution of folk music in recent years, both in the region and across Spain. The masterful fusion of creation and musical renewal on a solid traditional foundation, backed by their vast experience as musicians, gives rise to a fabric of instrumental and vocal quality that expands horizons in the landscape of rooted melodies. Olivenza (Badajoz), their place of origin, gives Acetre a "bicultural" character. This duality manifests in such a natural and authentic way that it can only be understood as an intrinsic expression, rooted in the very core of life's learning. Their performances bring together perantones, pindongos, festive tonadas and Extremaduran alboradas with Portuguese verdegaios, fados and corridinhos. This carefully crafted fusion yields one of the most exquisite repertoires within the modern concept of tradition. Their artistic approach is to feel music as a linguistic legacy to which they add their unique perspective. They perform with undeniable vocal bravery and beauty, accompanied by instrumentation that converses in subtle harmonies. Their compositions, a blend of ancient melodies and bold experimentation, open unexplored paths in roots music. If you're looking for an enriching and authentic sound experience, Acetre is the right choice. Immerse yourself in a musical journey that transcends time and borders, led by musicians who honor the past while shaping the future of folklore.
